Debbie was a godsend for my mom, Carol. Mom, in her late eighties, was still living independently in Stony Brook but in need of some extra help. Debbie was just a natural caregiver and knew how to jump in there and attend to her needs. Mom enjoyed telling stories of days gone by and Debbie used to always say how she loved to listen to them. It wasn't until my last visit with Debbie, at Nesconset Rehab, that I learned how the two of them would go for car rides and sing along to songs such as Rod Stewart ( I'm sure mom was just humming-can't imagine she knew the words!:)
Thank you Debbie for all your loving support , for easing our worries and for making mom's last few years "fun"! Although I am glad you are no longer suffering, we will miss you immensely!!
